eGovernment Services

One of the state of Montana's information technology goals and a major strategic initiative is eGovernment. The State aims to aggressively deploy appropriate electronic government services for the benefit of its customers. Providing government services electronically, primarily through the Internet, allows customers to do their business with state government on their own schedule around the clock. It also allows customers to deal with the State at their choice of location.

The objective of this initiative is to put customers in charge of their relationship with government by providing electronic access to government information and services. The cornerstone of this initiative is mt.gov. It is the portal through which eGovernment services can quickly be accessed. In order to accelerate the pace by which services and information are provided electronically, the State has entered into a long-term alliance with a private company for the development of Internet-based e-Government services. The resulting contract is the Self-funded Electronic Government Services term contract. The contract is currently held by NICUSA, Inc. doing business in Montana as Montana Interactive, LLC.
