CYBERSECURITY REPORTING

State Agencies

• For a large cyber incident call the SITSD Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) (444-2000) within 24 hours of incident.
• In addition to the above, all State Agencies must submit an Incident Report to the State CISO as per Section 2-6-1503, MCA.

Local Government

• For a large cyber incident in which the Local Government is on State Network (SummitNet) call the SITSD Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) (406-444-2000) within 24 hours of incident.
• For a small cyber incident (malware) or any other incident that does not involve Personally Identifiable Information (PII) call agency ServiceDesk.

Business and Citizen Reporting

• Montana Department of Justice - Data Breaches for Businesses
• Montana Department of Justice - Office of Consumer Protection - Submit a complaint against a business, search complaint records and report scams or rip-offs.
• FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) - The IC3 accepts online Internet crime complaints from either the actual victim or from a third party to the complainant.
• Federal Trade Commission - Identity Theft Reporting and Creating a Recovery Plan
• Federal Communication Commission - Consumer Complaint Center - By filing a consumer complaint and telling your story, you contribute to federal enforcement and consumer protection efforts on a national scale and help us identify trends and track the issues that matter most.
